Freshman rowers Evan Koch (Marlton, N.J./Doane Academy) and Charles Snyder (Stonington, Conn./Fishers Island School [N.Y.]) share this week's Shoreman of the Week honor. The two rowers raced three times at the Dad Vail Regatta, highlighted by a dominating win in the third-level final of the men's collegiate doubles.
Koch and Snyder rowerd in the heats of the men's collegiate doubles on Friday and then won the third-level final of that event in 7:45.096, a time more than 22 seconds faster than that of the second-place crew. The two had been practicing sculling for just two weeks. A few hours later on Saturday, they were sculling again as part of the Shoremen's fourth-place boat in the men's quad.
