Domanico Tallies Career-Best 13 Saves and E. Pantazes Notches Two Defensive Saves

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Devon Carroll scored the golden goal 2:41 into overtime from Erin Saybolt to give host #19 Ursinus a 2-1 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Wednesday night at Eleanor Frost Snell Alumnae Field.  The Bears are now 11-5 on the year and 7-2 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen slip to 4-13 and 4-5 respectively.

Ursinus 2 Washington College 1 (OT)

How It Happened
- The Bears had the first 12 shots of the game before the Shorewomen got their first shot of the game exactly 19 minutes in by Nicole Schroyer that was saved by Jules Singer.
- Washington would allow the next nine shots before scoring on its second shot in transition as Clare Ingersoll found a Schroyer coming down the right side and her shot from about 10 yards out found the back of the cage to give the Shorewomen a 1-0 lead with 36 seconds left in the first half.
- Ursinus would get three more shots and two penalty corners after time expired, but could not score as Morgan Domanico turned away a Saybolt shot to end the stanza as the hosts had a 24-2 advantage in shots, but trailed by one.
- After WC took the first two shots of the second half, Saybolt would tie the game 4:46 into the second half as she tipped in a pass from Gemma Dufoe on a play the developed on the left side.  It was Ursinus' first shot of the second half and 25th of the game.
- With 12:45 left in the second half, Saybolt beat Domanico, but could not beat Emily Pantazes as she tallied a defensive save for Washington to keep the score level.
- Ursinus' Gabriella Howell stole a clearing pass from the Shorewomen and had a shot on goal with 4:42 left, but Domanico stopped the shot.
- Carroll had the last shot of the second half for either side, but her attempt for the Bears went wide and the game would go to overtime.
- Emily Pantazes had her second defensive save of the night 1:07 into overtime as she stopped an attempt by Saybolt.
- Carroll would win it in overtime as off of a penalty corner, she received a pass from Saybolt and her shot from the left side found its way into the goal for the walk-off score as Ursinus had the final 13 shots of the game.
