Rachel Boyle returns for her 11th season as the Shorewomen’s head coach and 13th year as part of the Washington College field hockey coaching staff. During her tenure, the Shorewomen have reached postseason play on seven occasions, including trips to the Centennial Conference Tournametn three of the last four seasons. The Shorewomen have twice reached the Centennial Conference Semifinals in the last four years.

With Boyle on staff, Washington College field hockey players have earned All-Centennial Conference recognition 34 times. Additionally, the Shorewomen have received the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Academic Team Award eight times, most recently in 2011.

Coach Boyle earned a B.S. in Sport Industry and Coaching from Division I Ohio University in 1996. During her four-year career as a Bobcat, Boyle was a starting defender as a junior and senior and served as a team co-captain during the 1995 season. Boyle was a four-year letter-winner and helped the Bobcats reach the Mid-American Conference Tournament her junior and senior seasons.

Boyle serves as the athletic department’s Coordinator of Student-Athlete Services and earned an M.S. in Psychology from Washington College in 2006. Coach Boyle holds a Level II Accreditation from the USA Field Hockey Association and is an active member of both the US Field Hockey Futures Development Program and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Boyle and her husband David have three children - Marcus, Lexi, and Brady - and reside in Chestertown.

Kaitlyn McEnroe, a native of nearby Hockessin, DE, was named an assistant coach for the Shorewomen in August 2011. A four-year starter in goal for Bates College, she was named to the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first team and the All-New England Region second team and was selected to participate in the 2010 North-South Senior All-Star Game. She was also presented with the Evelyn Dillon Field Award for "superior play in the sport, leadership and dedication to the sport, and overall contribution to the team as a whole."

McEnroe has served as a personal coach for field hockey goalkeepers and soccer field players, as a physical therapy aide, and as a camp counselor with a focus on athletics, team building, and crafts. As a student at Bates, she worked as a senior admission fellow, a tutor, and an event center manager and spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Otago in New Zealand. She also completed an internship with DuPont Sustainable Development. 

McEnroe earned a B.A. in Biology from Bates in 2011.
