LANCASTER, Pa. – Washington College senior goalie Ted DiSalvo (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse for the week of March 24-30 as announced by the conference office. This is the second time this season that DiSalvo has won the conference's defensive player of the week award, also earning the award on March 10.
DiSalvo went 2-0 with a 4.14 goals against average and a .767 save percentage for the Shoremen this past week. In a 14-5 victory over visiting Haverford on March 26, he made 12 saves and allowed just one goal in 41:34 of action. He made six saves in the second quarter to help keep the Fords off the scoreboard until the third quarter. On March 29 in a 9-6 win over Franklin & Marshall, he made 11 saves, including five in the first quarter to help Washington jump out to a 2-0 lead after the opening quarter. The senior made three saves in the first five minutes of the game to keep the game scoreless.
DiSalvo has now either won or shared the weekly award four times as he was named defensive player of the week twice last year, once outright and once shared.
