Campbell Tabbed Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week For Men’s Lacrosse

Wins Award For The First Time

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior attackman JD Campbell (Baltimore, Md./Mount St. Joseph) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse for the week of April 14-20.  This is the first time that Campbell has won the conference's weekly award.

Campbell tied his career-high with four goals, which also tied for game-high, and scooped up a career-best six groundballs in #T5 Washington College's 13-8 victory over #20 Gettysburg on Saturday as the Shoremen snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Bullets.  It was Washington's first win in the series since a 9-8 win in the NCAA Quarterfinals on May 19, 2004.  He scored two of his four goals in the second quarter when WC turned a 4-3 lead entering the quarter into an 8-4 lead at halftime.  The senior scored his other two goals in the fourth quarter; including two of the last three as the Shoremen turned a two-goal lead (9-7) into a five-goal win (13-8).  His third goal of the game gave WC a 11-8 lead with 7:37 left and it was just 61 seconds after the Bullets cut the lead to 10-8.  Of his six groundballs, two led to goals within 40 seconds of him scooping them up, including scooping one up and scoring three seconds later in the second quarter to put Washington ahead 7-3 with 11:37 to go in the second.
