Jessie Probst Hired as Full-Time Assistant Softball Coach

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College head softball coach Lacey Lister has announcing the hiring of Jessie Probst as the team's new full-time assistant coach. Probst spent the last two years as a graduate assistant and pitching coach at Heidelberg University and is a former Division II pitcher.

While at Heidelberg, Probst helped lead the Student Princes to the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. During her two seasons, Heidelberg student-athletes garnered 12 All-OAC honors, three All-Region honors, and one All-America honor. In addition to her duties assisting the head coach in several key areas, including recruiting, and working with the team's pitchers, she also coached the program's junior varsity team, served as an academic advisor to members of the team, and developed promotional events to increase fundraising.

Probst pitched collegiately at Lock Haven University as a scholarship student-athlete for four seasons. She had a career earned-run average of 2.20 and played for the 2012 and 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Champions. She was also a scholarship student-athlete on Lock Haven's women's basketball team as a freshman.

Probst has worked at softball clinics and camps at both Lock Haven and Heidelberg, as well as at Penn State and for the Paxtonia (Pa.) Athletic Association. She earned a B.S. in Sport Administration, with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology, from Lock Haven in 2015, and an M.B.A. from Heidelberg this past May.
