Three Shorewomen Softball Players Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Three student-athletes from the Washington College softball team have been named 2017 National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes for recording a 3.5 grade-point average for the 2016-17 academic year.

Junior pitcher Maddie Bennett (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron), junior infielder Kerrigan Buck (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), and senior first baseman Gabrielle Edwards (Bear, Del./St. Georges Technical) each received the honor. All three also qualified for the 2017 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. (Edwards is a two-time Centennial Academic Honor Roll qualifier.)

Bennett is an International Studies and Spanish double major, currently studying abroad this semester. Buck is majoring in Environmental Studies, while Edwards is a Biology major. 

The Shorewomen are slated to open up their 2018 season March 1st with a non-conference double-header at Stockton University.
