Shipley & Hubley Have Big Days, Ziccardi Reaches 150 Career Points

MADISON, NJ -- Visiting Washington College scored nine times in the first 10 minutes of the game en route to a 20-12 win over host Drew University this afternoon in Madison, NJ. The Shorewomen, who finish the non-conference portion of their schedule at 7-0, got six goals and one assist from sophomore midfielder Emily Hubley (West Chester, PA/Bayard Rustin) and three goals and six assists from senior midfielder Mollie Shipley (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) in the win. Washington senior attacker Corinne Ziccardi (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) picked up her 150th career point in the game.

Hubley scored four times in the first 8:41 of the game and Washington took a 9-1 lead when junior attacker Laura Nicely (Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) scored with 20:06 left in the first half. Washington held a 15-5 halftime lead. The Shorewomen's 20 goals on the afternoon were their most in a single game since a 22-5 win over Salve Regina in March 2009. 

Ziccardi's 150th career point came on a goal with 19:00 remaining in the second half. She had an assist earlier in the game. Hubley's six goals came on just eight shots. Shipley's nine total points were a career high. Junior defender/midfielder Kathleen Maleski (Mount Airy, MD/South Carroll) added three goals, while junior midfielder Carly Eisenbrandt (Baltimore, MD/Towson) scored two goals and assisted on another. Senior midfielder Marissa Restaino (Media, PA/Penncrest) rounded out the Shorewomen's multiple point-getters with two goals. Sophomore attacker Catherine Stanley (Freeland, MD/Hereford) scored her first career goal in the game.

Nikkie Kleiman had six goals and one assist to lead Drew (4-4). Krysta Cento had three goals and one assist, while Brooke Gagliano scored one goal and assisted on another.

The Shorewomen return to action one week from today with their Centennial Conference opener, a 1:00 p.m. home game against nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall.
