1st Place: March 7th: Men's Lacrosse Pulls Off Improbable Comeback Win
The men's lacrosse team trailed Oneonta State, 6-4, late in the fourth quarter, but a goal from midfield by Andrew Docktor in the waning seconds of regulation and a goal by Tyler Powers with 11 seconds left in overtime gave the Shoremen an improbable 7-6 victory. 2nd Place: October 25th: Men's Soccer Clinches First Centennial Tournament Berth
After trailing, 3-1, in the first half of a home game against Swarthmore, the Shoremen scored four unanswered goals for a 5-3 win to clinch their first-ever Centennial Conference Tournament berth. The Shoremen went on to earn their first Centennial Tournament win by beating Dickinson, 1-0, in the first round at home and finished the season with their best record in 16 years. 3rd Place: April 30th: Women's Rowing Wins Fourth Straight MARC Championship
For the fourth year in a row, the women's rowing team won the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship to secure an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship. The Shorewomen won both the first and second varsity eight races to claim the crown. Head coach Mike Davenport, who retired at the end of the season, was named the MARC Coach of the Year for the third time.
4th Place: February 6th: Men's Swimming Completes Undefeated Dual-Meet Season
A 57-38 win for the men's swimming team at McDaniel capped a perfect 10-0 dual-meet season, giving the Shoremen both their first-ever undefeated season and their first-ever Centennial Conference Dual-Meet Championship. The victory was also the Shoremen's 17th consecutive dual-meet win overall and set a program record for wins in a season. It was the first unbeaten season by a men's varsity team at the College since the men's soccer team finished 8-0 in 1947.
5th Place: December 3rd: Men's Basketball & Women's Basketball Pull Off Double-Header Sweep of Gettysburg
The men's basketball team broke a 12-game home losing streak in dramatic fashion by toppling Gettysburg, 91-90, in double overtime in the first game of a Centennial Conference double-header with the Bullets. The victory also broke a six-game losing streak against the Bullets. The women's basketball team then took the court and never trailed in a 70-61 win over the Bullets to snap a 22-game conference losing streak and an eight-game losing streak in the all-time series. 6th Place: April 21st: Bennett Tosses No-Hitter in Softball Sweep at Swarthmore
Maddie Bennett tossed the first seven-inning no-hitter in Washington College softball history as the Shorewomen defeated Swarthmore, 5-0, to complete a double-header sweep. The Shorewomen went on to earn the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time ever and Bennett went on to be named both the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year and the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Year. 7th Place: April 19th: Baseball Rallies for 10-Inning Walk-Off Win Over F&M
The baseball team rallied from a 5-1 deficit to force the 10th inning against the Diplomats only to trail, 6-5, heading into the bottom of the 10th. Mike Pugh led off the bottom of the 10th with a pinch-hit single and later scored on an error. Bryan Baquer then plated the winning run by driving in Matt Tancredi with a game-ending triple.
8th Place: October 22nd: Volleyball Posts Five-Set Win Over Salisbury
After winning the first set, 26-24, the volleyball team dropped the next two to the rival Sea Gulls, 25-13, and 25-11, but fought back for a 25-20 fourth-set win and then out-lasted Salisbury for an 18-16 victory in the fifth set to take the match. Salisbury served for match point in the fifth set with a 14-12 lead. Check out the video of the final two points of the match.
9th Place: April 20th: Solomon's Saves Propel Women's Lax to Win at Haverford
Haylee Solomon posted career highs of 16 saves and five ground balls to lead the women's lacrosse team to a 9-7 win at Haverford. The victory proved to be crucial to the Shorewomen gaining a first-round bye in the Centennial Conference Tournament as they advanced to the postseason for the sixth straight season.
10th Place: May 7th: Women's Tennis Wins Centennial Conference Semifinal
The women's tennis team advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship match for the second year in a row thanks to a 5-1 victory over Swarthmore in the tournament's semifinal round. Krista Filiopoulos notched the winning point with her 7-5, 6-0, victory at No. 4 singles.
