• Shoremen Finish Season with Semifinal Appearances at Dad Vail Regatta

    The Washington College men's rowing team finished its 2011-12 season at the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, held yesterday and today on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. All three of the Shoremen's boats entered at the regatta - the varsity four, frosh/novice four, and varsity pair - advanced to their respective semifinals.

    Washington College senior Sean Harrison and junior Robert Storck have earned All Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) varsity honors, while coxswain Christie Phebus was named to the All-MARC novice team. Harrison is also one of four Shoremen to earn MARC Academic All-Conference honors.

    The Washington College men's rowing team finished second overall at the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships today at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, PA. The Shoremen totaled 21 points in the two scoring events - the varsity four and varsity eight.

    The Washington College men's and women's rowing teams joined together to enter the "Let's Can Hunger" effort, sponsored by the school's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Club. The rowers donated more food than any other student organization at 300 pounds of food.

    The Washington College men's rowing team finished second in the frosh/novice four and in the Division II/III varsity eight at the Knecht Cup, held yesterday and today on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Shoremen also finished third in the second varsity four, fifth in both the varsity pair and Division II/III varsity four, and eighth overall (second in the petite final) of the varsity four.
