Team Moves To 5-0 In Centennial For The First Time In 15 Years

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Host Washington College remained undefeated in Centennial Conference play with a 18-3 win over visiting Bryn Mawr in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game played this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, as Madison Acra finished off a pass from Lauren Brenner with 23:53 to go until halftime.
- Elicie Edmond stopped the run for the Owls, putting Bryn Mawr on the board with 21:35 to go in the opening half to cut the lead to 4-1.
- The Shorewomen would then use another 4-0 run to open up an 8-1 lead on a goal from Morgen Moran, coming off a Brenner assist with 14:37 to go until halftime. 
- Edmond stopped the run with her second goal with 11:45 to play in the half, but Washington would score the last five goals of the half, the last coming from Kristy Grovom off a Cecily Docktor assist with 2:17 to go, to send the Shorewomen into the locker room with a 13-2 lead.
- Washington would score the first five goals of the second half, the final one coming from Brenner off an Alison Pantazes assist with 4:41 to go to make the score 18-2.
- Kendall Derber would score an unassisted goal for the Owls with 48 seconds to play to set the final margin. 

For the Shorewomen (10-2 Overall, 5-0 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Brenner (4 goals, 2 assists), Docktor (1 goal, 4 assists), Anna Bennett (3 goals), Acra (2 goals, 1 assist), Grovom (2 goals), Moran (2 goals), Aubrey Robinson (2 goals), Alison Pantazes (1 goal, 2 assists), Emily Pantazes (1 goal).
- Goalies: Isabella Richardson (0 saves, 1 goal allowed, 9:15), Victoria Shanerman (2 saves, 2 goals allowed, 50:45).
- Bennett also added a game high seven draw controls, while Catherine Keirn and Melissa Donato each caused a game high two turnovers.
- The Shorewomen outshot Bryn Mawr 27-7, controlled 19 of the games 23 draws, and had a 15-6 advantage in ground balls.

For Bryn Mawr (2-7 Overall, 0-5 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Edmond (2 goals), Derber (1 goal).
- Goalie: Claire Hampton (3 saves, 18 goals allowed, 60:00).

- Bennett was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player Of The Game on the webcast of the game for the first time in her career. Her three goals and seven draw controls both establish new career highs.
- Washington is now 5-0 in Centennial Conference play for the first time since the 2003 team also started 5-0. They went on to finish the season at 7-2 in the Centennial.
