Shorewomen to Open Spring Ranked 14th in Nation

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The preseason edition of the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA)/US Rowing NCAA Division III National Top 15 poll has been released and the Washington College women's rowing team checks in at 14th.

The Shorewomen, who finished second at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships last spring, have won three conference championships in the past five seasons.  This year, for the first time ever, the winner of the MARC Championship will receive a full team (two eights) automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.  Marietta, the 2012 MARC Champion, is ranked seventh in the preseason poll.

The Shorewomen will open their spring racing season Saturday with a 9:00 a.m. home regatta against Wellesley and Mount Holyoke.  Wellesley is ranked fifth in the preseason poll.
