Shorewomen's First Varsity Eight Named MARC Women's Crew of the Week

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College women's rowing team's first varsity eight has been named the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Women's Crew of the Week for the week ending March 31st.

At the Washington College Invitational on Saturday, the Shorewomen finished second in the grand final of the women's first varsity eight, helping the Shorewomen claim the overall points trophy. The Shorewomen finished the grand final in 5:58.17, less than four second behind eighth-ranked Wellesley. Wellesley won the grand final in 5:54.53, while Division I Saint Joseph's "A" was third in 6:04.99 and Saint Joseph's "B" was fourth in 6:08.84.

That performance helped push the Shorewomen into the USRowing/CRCA Division III Top 15 for the first time this season, checking in at 13th this week.

The Shorewomen's first varsity eight on Saturday consisted of: Olivia Robb (coxswain), Erika Reynolds (stroke), Kelin McCloskey (seven), Breanna Lanphear (six), Gabrielle Francis (five), Lizzie Bienert(four), Emma Hogan (three), Agnes Anderson (two), and Karis Marano (bow).
